Tips For Choosing Lawn Care Professionals

Many home and garden owners would rather hire a professional service company to take care of their yards and gardens. These professional companies offer lawn care services which can include mowing, watering, planting, weeding, fertilizing, aerating and pest control among other things. Not all lawn service companies will offer all of these services, but finding those that do can save you a lot of time and effort. Using professional services like these can also help your yard to look it’s best year round.

Before you choose someone to take care of your yard and gardens though, it’s best to ask a few questions and make sure they’re able to provide the lawn care services you’re actually looking for.

First: Does the lawn care company have a valid license? Most places in the US usually require service professionals to have a license, which makes them legally qualified to operate in your area.

Second: Does the lawn care company have references? Find out who their customers are and then actually contact those people to see what they think of the company and their services. Don’t be afraid to ask if they were unhappy with anything too. Besides customer testimonials, you can also call your local Better Business Bureau to find out if there have been any complaints or problems reported.

Third: Does the lawn care company have any professional affiliations or associations? This may not be a major issue, particularly for smaller owner operated companies, but sometimes being part of a professional association ensures the company is committed to providing the best and most up to date services they can.

Other things to find about about potential lawn care service companies is the specific services they offer for your yard and garden. Do they take care of pest control for example, and if so how do they do it? Is there a certain schedule they use, do they use specific pesticides and how will those affect your family or pets?

Do they have a full service option so that they’re taking care of your yard and garden 100%? If they only offer limited services and you have to water the lawn and cut the grass, will they offer advice and information about whether you’re doing these things in the best way possible for your lawn?

If they are applying fertilizers and pesticides for you, is the cost of those materials included in their services or do you have to pay extra for them?

These are all questions you should get answers for before deciding to hire professional lawn care services. You may need to get this type of information on several companies before you find just the right one for you, but once you’ve found them you’re sure to be thrilled with the services they provide.
