The Benefits of Solar Powered Garden Lights
Solar powered garden lights, which are stuck in the ground, are a great addition to any garden or yard. They absorb the free energy from the sun during daylight hours, and then radiate a peaceful and elegant glow for hours after nightfall. Some people use them as porch lighting and deck rail lights as well.
With the economical situation and environmental concerns, it is easy to see why so many use solar powered garden lights instead of regular wired to the grid lights. Rather than running on house electrical supply, the solar powered lights don’t leave any more carbon footprint once installed.
Most of the benefits of solar powered garden lights are visual, of course. They come in a large number of styles and colors, which seem to grow every day. The standard types are used to mark walkways or showcase certain parts of your yard. The majority of these types have the same pattern; narrow bases and beautiful bulbs with glass or plastic globes, usually covered by rain guards.
Homeowners have gotten very creative as they place their solar powered garden lights around their property. From lining the edges of sidewalks, to spotlighting a rock garden, to additional security lights, these handy lights are everywhere.
There are many solar powered garden lights with distinctive character, such as old fashioned hanging lantern style lights. Water fountain lights come in floating and stationary varieties, some shaped like lily pads. You can even find rock shaped lights, to place in your flower bed.
I love the lights that change colour while you watch. These ones come in a clear hanging globe. Another simple yet useful application for solar powered garden lights is ones placed right on the edges of steps to help avoid trips and spills of anyone using the steps after dark.
With solar powere garden lights, your monthly utility bill won’t go up. You can also install them yourself. This explains why the solar lights are more popular than regular garden lights, which may need professionals to install them. They also make the power bill go up!

I like the article. I also believe in this day of age with economical hardship and depletion of natural resources, we need to move towards technologies that conserves energy and are cost efficient. I hope more stores start carrying solar items.

Solar lights are such a beautiful addition to a garden. I read an article recently about someone having donated a whole bunch of solar lights to Africa. The locals would usually spend a large amount of money on kerosene for their lamps. With solar lights, they have been able to save that money! Thanks for sharing.
