Planting Grass Seed For A Green Yard
It does not take much effort to grow a healthy lawn but it does take a good bit of patience for your grass to reach its full beauty. Whether you are starting a new area of grass or just filling in some bare spots in an existing yard there are some things you can do to assure that your grass will grow. Each year many people look to their yards and start the process of planting grass seed in hope of having a green lawn before too long. Here are some tips for growing a green lawn:
Water: You will definitely need a garden hose and a sprinkler or sprayer. If it doesn’t rain each day you will want to give your grass at least 15 to 25 minutes of water. The main thing to remember when you begin growing your lawn is that it will need lots of water.
Do Not Walk On It: New grass must be left alone and not trampled on while it is starting to grow. Some people rope off an area around where they are growing grass in an effort to prevent the new grass from being stepped on by careless walkers and pets. Other than not watering your grass, crushing on new grass is an almost certain way to kill your grass.
Cut Your Grass Sparingly: Grass needs an opportunity to grow tall and healthy before you cut it down. While mowing your grass does make it look neater, it’s important to remember that you should let your grass become healthy before you mow it for the first time. Many people know that when you do mow your lawn you should use a higher setting on your lawn mower so that your grass can become thick and green.
It’s easy to grow the yard of your dreams if you are willing to dedicate a little time and effort on a regular basis. To grow a beautiful yard you only need to spend a few hours a week caring for it. The first time you try to grow grass you may need to buy some simple gardening tools and the best push mower you can afford.

All good advise, although good grass seeds are important as well. I’ve been buying mine from http://www.pggrassseeds.co.uk and the difference it made using better seeds was totally worth it. Like you say, time and effort is required.
