How to Maintain a Clean Bird Bath
Bird baths are a picturesque addition to your garden, patio or yard. However, if they aren’t maintained properly, they can become an eyesore. If algae and scum are taking over your bird bath, forget about washing it with harsh chemicals or bleach solutions. There are environmentally friendly solutions to keep your bird bath clean and your feathered friends happy and safe.
By using an all-natural bird bath product you can prevent scum and algae from forming in the first place. These products are safe for birds, the environment and don’t even require the constant maintenance of your bird bath.
Bioverse makes a Birdbath Water Cleaner that uses beneficial bacteria and enzymes to prevent stains, mineral deposits and organic build-up. The product reduces the excess nutrients in the water that causes the problems.
It is best to give your bird a thorough cleaning before using the product. However, be sure to avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, which can be harmful to birds and other animals. Simply empty the bird bath and scrub it well with a brush or sponge. A mixture of vinegar and water also may be helpful; and there are a few soy-based cleaners that won’t harm the birds. Some very mild detergents can be used, but some birds are sensitive to these, as well, so plain water is preferable.
You will want to disinfect your scrub brush or sponge (or just toss it). If you want to keep it, let it soak in some lemon juice and hot water for 20 minutes. Then spray a little Lysol on it, before giving it another rinse with water.
Once you have thoroughly rinsed your bird bath, fill it back up and use the Bioverse Birdbath Water Cleaner. The product is a simple, small dispenser that you place in the middle of the of your bird bath. It releases its beneficial bacteria and enzymes over the course of 30 days. All you have to do is keep your bird bath filled with water and let the all-natural product do its thing. One dispenser will treat bird baths ranging from one to seven gallons of water.
In order to keep the water clean and clear, simply remove the old dispenser after 30 days and drop in a new one. It is just that simple to keep your bird bath pristine and sparkling fresh. Your feathered visitors will appreciate the clean bath, too.
Other Bioverse products include all-natural solutions to keep fountains, Koi ponds and larger water features clean and fresh. Bioverse products are eco-friendly and easy to use, and contain no chemical algaecides or other harmful chemicals. No matter what type of water feature you have from bird baths to ponds, Bioverse has an all-natural solution to keep it maintained and fresh.
