Gardening Tips Flowers That Do Well In Direct Sun

I would like to share some tips on gardening with you, which I have found good. The internet, gardening clubs, books, magazines and your local nursery could prove to be valuable resources to get more information on gardening. The information that you must have are the amount of sunshine your garden would get, mulch, tips on using fertilizers and the type of soil needed. You would also want to know the kind of tools that you require plus the type of tiller and watering system which are required to give you best results.

Tip #1: If you want to save on time, start jotting down your gardening plan on a piece of paper. Keep the plan in front of you and let the brainstorming begin. How far is the hose from the garden and would you need sprinklers?

Gardening Tip #2: The garden is a success if the soil is prepared well. Plants have varying needs when it is a matter of the type of soil that they grow on. Also make sure that if it is going to be a vegetable or an herb garden, you try and use organic fertilizer because it will not affect that flavor of the food. Wooden chip mulch or any good compost would be a better choice than ordinary fertilizer.

Having a backyard compost heap is not really impossible, especially when you consider its returns. Fresh home brew compost is filled with essential nutrients for our herb and vegetable garden, but after all it may not be a very realistic idea. If you are looking for an alternative to home compost mixture, mulch is your choice but make sure that they are of softer woods like pine or redwood since these woods break faster. Whatever you use – mulch, compost or fertilizer, just make sure that they are mixed well.

Gardening Tip #3: to have a final look at what your garden would look like, lay the plants on top of the soil, once it is prepared. I firmly believe it is wise to plant plants together that have similar characteristics. For instance, all plants which have similar radius should be planted close to each other. You can see all the plants if you plant taller plants at the back with shorter ones in the front.

Gardening Tip #4: One of the most important points to remember is to water your garden regularly. Depending on the size of your house, watering a garden can be tough. An automatic watering system is a wise alternative, if you want your garden to grow on its own. Choose anything from a large sprinkling system to a time on a hose – your automatic watering system can provide many options. Gardening can be an engaging and rewarding pastime which gives you pleasure, beauty and of course, food also.
