Don’t Spend Hours On Gardens Maintenance
Gardens maintenance can quickly become a tiresome and frustrating task if you are doing it wrong. Your garden will tell you what needs to be done as the seasons change.
Many gardeners spend useless hours trying to rake up and remove leaves during Autumn. Let the season do what it does best and after all the leaves have fallen, you simply deposit the leaves in your flower beds by raking them directly in. Not only will your plants enjoy a comfortable winter, but the leaves will quickly rot away adding nutrition to the soil.
Many hours spent on pruning roses stem by stem can be avoided as well. Cut a stick of about ninety centimeters and stick it into the ground next to your rose bush by about ten centimeters down. Now simply cut the rose bush at the same level as the top of the stick. From the cut off tops, you can make as many cuttings as you want there and then. Mulch the rest with a garden shredder and scatter it round the rooting areas of the roses.
Lawns should be cut by following a moon calendar. Certain days will see your lawn grow a lot more after cutting, but other days on the calendar can be selected to slow down the lawn. This could save you lots of time as the weekly mowing could be reduced to bi weekly by doing this simple technique.
Do small maintenance tasks as they pop up. Like dead-heading flowers as you are enjoying your daily garden walk. Weeds that pop up can be pulled on the spot as you notice them. Doing small bits, you never have to spend your weekends working in the garden only.
A well maintained garden is a happy garden, so enjoy keeping your garden in tip top shape all year round.
